Install
Shopify
Connect once. StoreMetrics installs the storefront script and syncs paid orders.
Shopify
Shopify is the happy path. You connect. We install. Orders show up when money clears.
Do this
- In StoreMetrics, open your site → Connect Shopify (onboarding or Settings).
- In Shopify Dev Dashboard, create an app for your store.
- Install the app on the store. Copy admin domain, client ID, client secret.
- Paste them into StoreMetrics.
- Wait for StoreMetrics to:
- Install one storefront bootstrap script
- Register paid-order webhooks
- Clean up old StoreMetrics-owned script tags
What “connected” means
| Piece | Job |
|---|---|
| Storefront script | Page views, product views, cart, checkout signals |
| Webhooks | Paid orders → revenue + live feed purchases |
| Reconnect | Refresh script/webhooks without retyping secrets |
Verify
- Open your storefront (incognito is fine).
- Watch StoreMetrics for a live event.
- Place a small test order (or wait for a real one).
- Confirm a Purchase row in the live feed.
Reconnect when
- You changed the storefront URL or tunnel
- Webhooks look stale
- A preflight check yelled about a broken install
Use Reconnect Shopify in Settings. Do not stack a second hand-pasted tracker.
Prompt for your AI (ops, not code)
I am connecting StoreMetrics to Shopify store YOUR_SHOP.myshopify.com.
Walk me through:
1. Creating a custom app in Shopify Dev Dashboard for my own store
2. Which credentials to copy into StoreMetrics (domain, client ID, secret)
3. What StoreMetrics should confirm after connect (script installed, webhooks registered)
4. How to verify with a storefront visit + a test paid order
5. When to use Reconnect vs starting over
Do not invent script tags or API keys. Prefer StoreMetrics's Connect flow.
If connect fails
StoreMetrics preflight checks for stale loaders and install conflicts. Read the error — it is trying to stop you from shipping a haunted theme.
Common fixes: remove duplicate old analytics scripts you pasted years ago, confirm app install scopes, try Reconnect.
